Karl Lagerfeld, Virginie Viard alla guida di Chanel

Parigi, 19 febbraio 2019 - Sarà Virginie Viard, al suo fianco come prima assistente da trent'anni, l'erede creativa di Karl Lagerfeld. Lo hanno ufficializzato i vertici della maison Chanel, col proprietario Alain Wertheirmer, Ceo del brand fondato da Mademoiselle Coco, e con Bruno Pavlovsky, presidente delle attività di moda di Chanel, sicuri che la Viard saprà portare avanti lo stile e l'heritage di Gabrielle Chanel e di Karl Lagerfeld. La bruna Virginie, che a cinquant'anni passati da poco conserva un aspetto da ragazza, era apparsa al termine della sfilata dell'haute couture a Parigi lo scorso 22 gennaio, a ricevere gli applausi al posto del Maestro che a detta della maison quel giorno era "affaticato". Sorpresa e sconcerto per questo debutto inatteso di Viard che senza dubbio ha esperienza e talento da vendere anche per essere stata accanto al Kaiser per tutti questi anni. "Monsieur Lagerfeld è partito, Monsieur Lagerfeld sta arrivando, Monsieur Lagerfeld è arrivato", così veniva scandito tutto il suo tempo impiegato da casa all'atelier in rue Cambon con Virginie Viard sempre in paziente attesa.

Ora Choupette, gatta birmana bianca che gli regalò il protetto Baptiste Giabiconi, modello bellissimo, stasera sarà sola nell'hotel particulier che contiene l'immensa biblioteca del Kaiser e poggerà la testolina sul cuscino vuoto. Solo a lei, animale amatissimo di sette anni che ha riempito le sue ultime gioie, era consentita tanta intimità ed affetto. Ritratta da lui grande fotografo e immensa personalità della cultura internazionale come un gattino qualunque sul divano, sulle pile di libri, in giardino e perfino dentro al vaso di fiori per la gioia dei suoi 126.000 followers. Tutti dicono che sarà Choupette la vera erede del Kaiser, forse, chissà, certo che Karl le ha assicurato un appannaggio dorato e le cure di ben due persone di servizio completamente dedicate a lei.
