Se ogni donna ha ciò che vuole, tu hai il tuo Will

Se ogni donna ha ciò che vuole, tu hai il tuo Will,
e un Will in aggiunta, e un Will in sovrappiù;
sono di troppo io, che sempre t’importuno
aggiungendomi così alla tua dolce voglia.
Non vorrai tu, la cui voglia è larga e spaziosa,
concedermi una volta di celare la mia voglia nella tua?
Dovrà l’altrui voglia apparire tutta grazia
e per la mia voglia non splenderà gentile accettazione?
Il mare, tutto acqua, riceve pur sempre la pioggia
e in abbondanza accresce le sue scorte;
così, tu che di Will sei ricca, aggiungi al tuo Will
una mia voglia per fare ancor più larga la tua voglia.
Il tuo crudele no non uccida gentili pretendenti:
pensali tutti quanti uno, e me unico Will in tutta quella voglia.
