Treffen, February 2015 – It is once again “God save the Queen” the national anthem played for the young winner of the Treffen Grand Prix. William Whitaker was “simply the best” in the top class of the CSI3*, held this weekend in Austria at the Glock Horse Performance Center.
Double clear out of three on the course designed by Frank Rothenberger, the British rider finished in the first place with his Fandango in 35.23 seconds. Behind him, the Turkish Omer Karaevli on Dadjak Ter Puttenen achieved the second position (0/0 35.57), while the stable’s rider, the Dutch Gerco Schröder and his Glock's Cognac Champblanc were third in 36.97 seconds.
Just five qualified in the jump-off over 39 couples at the start: the quickest was indeed the fourth placed, the Polish Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski who, with Crazy Quick, ended with one fault, in 34.72.
Four penalties to John Whitaker too who, after winning the big class on Friday with Argento, this time had to leave the victory to his nephew William and be satisfied with the fifth place (35.53).
