Zurich, January 2015 – Who would have thought it possible twelve months ago? Bertram maybe, or maybe not. We are obviously talking about the nineteen-year-old Irish rider who keeps on surprising on the major stages of show jumping.

Since last summer Bertram Allen has been growing very quickly and now he finds himself just behind the French Kevin Staut and the Swiss Olympic gold medallist, Steve Guerdat, in the Longines FEI World Cup provisional ranking.

At the third place of the Western European League with 51 points (the last 17 obtained last Sunday with the second position after Spanish Sergio Alvarez Moya in the World Cup GP), Bertram shall now truly dream of Las Vegas.

The Irish superstar has, together with his mare Molly Malone V, climbed ten positions of the actual ranking, qualifying for the Longines FEI Wolrld Cup Final 2014-2015, which will take place in Nevada next April.

Individual gold medal and team silver medal at the Pony European Championship 2010, team gold in 2012 and individual silver at the Junior European Championship the following year, the young talent blossomed at senior level in 2014 with exceptional results.

In the past season he recorded the victories in the Lummen and Dublin Grand Prix and took part at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy with the Irish team. On his debut on the world championship he closed individually in the seventh position. In the World Cup indoor circuit he was victorious on the Verona GP, finished seventh in London and second in Zurich, his last brilliant placement.

Everybody now stands to see the magic of this enfant prodige, already said to be the “Marcus Ehning 2.0”.
